Richmond, Virginia is a beautiful city located on the James River with so many amenities.  Travel back in time as you tour both Revolutionary and Civil War historic sites. Among the scores of historic sites are monuments, homes, governmental buildings, churches, and battlefields.

Looking for additional learning experiences?  Come see Richmond's museums, including Fine Arts, Science with an IMAX theatre, Children's, and History.  Still looking for adventure?  Try spelunking in Virginia's caves... the natural stalactite pipe organ in Luray Caverns is truly inspirational.

If you are seeking adventures in shopping then visit Richmond's new luxury malls of Short Pump Town Center and Stony Point Fashion Park.

The word "Ride" has many meanings in this city... from the rides at Paramount King's Dominion and Bush Gardens to the NASCAR drivers' rides in races at the Richmond International Raceway to horseback rides along the beautiful trails to rides on the rapids of the James River.

If you have an eye for art then partake of the many art galleries of Richmond, home of the largest school of the arts on the East Coast.  Art galleries are found throughout the city from downtown to Carytown toThe Fan and out to the West End.

Enjoy excellent cuisine at one of the many fine restaurants.  Whether you are in the mood for a formal, casual, American, international, regional, or eclectic dining experience, Richmond has a restaurant for you!  After an incredible meal take a leisurely stroll along the Canal Walk.

Go for a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to view the breathtaking scenery and then hike to one of Virginia's many waterfalls in the midst of the bountiful mountain laurel.  Each month you can choose to participate in a themed festival and during harvest seasons enjoy picking apples, berries, pumpkins, and other fresh vegetation.

For the equestrians, Virginia's rolling hills and verdant pastureland are the haven for magnificent horses... it is incredible to behold the Chincoteague Ponies galloping along the shore.  Lighthouse seekers are thrilled at the opportunities to tour lighthouses along the Virginia seacoast.  Boating enthusiasts and sport fishermen cruise the rivers and Chesapeake Bay.  White water rafters excitedly ride the rapids of the James River.

Richmond is in close proximity to Washington, D.C., Mount Vernon, Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown which encourages in-depth learning about our nation's history.

If you like to test your skills on the slopes then come ski at Wintergreen Resort.  Snow tubing for the youngsters is available as well.  If you prefer a more relaxing weekend then retreat to the warm springs of the beautiful Homestead Resort. Make plans to visit Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Maymont Park for breathtakingly beautiful flora and architecture.
